Cancelled Subscriptions
I stumbled upon Matt‘s blog post from last year again, where he lists what he spends on subscriptions each month.
I am not a fan of subscriptions. It’s less transparent how much money you spend - and you own nothing. It’s one of the reasons why we bought our car, and didn’t lease.
And for the same reasons I cancelled a few subscriptions this week:
- Netflix: We watched everything on the list. No need to continue paying unless something is released we want to see. If needed, we can re-subscribe any time.
- Disney+: Disney cancelled that for us. They asked for a significant price increase, I said no, worked last year but this time they cancelled our subscription. Fine for me.
- Apple Music: I prefer Apple Music over Spotify. At the same time, I don’t feel like paying for two music streaming services that we barely use at the same time. We can share one account. As we have the better deal with Spotify, it stays.
- iCloud: to be honest, not yet cancelled, but soon. I bought a new NAS that will replace the photos backup. Without photos, I barely need iCloud storage and can cancel the subscription.
